Weekdays:

6:00 a.m.:
- Time to wake up and have breakfast

7:15 a.m.:
- The children go to school dressed in uniform.
- A few of the older children, who have their lessons in the evenings or on weekends, cook and help with various household chores in the morning.
- Father Leroux supervises all the daily chores and devotes at least an hour for morning prayers.

1:30 p.m.:
- Lunchtime, which, for those who aren’t in school, consists of a big plate of rice with meat, fish and/or vegetables followed by tea or sometimes a soft drink.

2:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.:
- The children come back in little groups from school, they change and have lunch.
- Time for chores: the children wash the dishes, and clean up the kitchen and the dining room. Once they have finished their chores, they play marbles, whirligig, and like all kids their age often end up wrestling and rough and tumbling with each other, all in good fun of course!.

3:45 pm - 7:00 pm:
- Father takes the children to the parish (all of them pile into his van!). One of the local ladies volunteers her time every afternoon to take care of the children and help them with their homework. It is often challenging to get them to concentrate! On Wednesdays and Fridays, they stay on until 8:00 p.m.

6:00 p.m. - 7:00p.m.:
- Father celebrates Mass. Some of the children serve as altar boys. On Wednesdays and Fridays, Mass is at 8:00 p.m. to accommodate their study schedule.

7:30 p.m.:
- Dinner time : this is a simple meal consisting of several pieces of bread with a small serving of cheese, sausage or egg followed by hot chocolate or tea. There is always a big, creamy cake to celebrate birthdays!.
- After dinner, Father assigns specific tasks to those children who were punished during the day for bad behaviour . They have to wash the dishes, clean the kitchen, dining room and toilets, and tidy up their rooms.

8:15 p.m.:
- Television time with Father: for those who behaved well during the day. with the padre.

9:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.:
- Time for bed! Hasta mañana!

On weekends bedtime is a little more relaxed

Saturday:

6:30 a.m.:
- Several of the older children go shopping at the local market in the town centre and buy all the necessary provisions for the following week.

In the morning:
- The other children clean the house and the kitchen, tidy their rooms and, of course, have some play time!

12:30 p.m.:
- Lunchtime and chores.

3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.:
- Catechism and homework at the parish.

7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.:
- Father celebrates Mass with the altar boys.

8:30 p.m.:
- Dinner, chores and television time.

Sunday:

In the morning:
- Father celebrates 3 Masses (7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.) with the altar boys.
- Some of the older children, along with the help of Gladys, spend the entire morning cooking.
- The other children relax, have fun and attend the last Mass of the morning.

12:30 p.m.:
- Lunchtime and chores.

In the afternoon:
- The older children play soccer on the neighbourhood grounds.
- All of them take a shower and put the clean laundry in order.

6:00 p.m.:
- Everyone enjoys dinner, often while watching television.

As you can see, the children are kept very busy each day. However, this does not prevent them from having time to play and enjoy themselves.
